From Valleys to Crags - Paintings by Rob Miller

From Valleys to Crags and places in between.

The inspiration for my paintings comes from walking in the land and then painting initially on location. This exhibition of my work at the Water Street Gallery in 2026 shows some of the paintings that I painted recently in Cumbria, the West Riding Yorkshire and the Lancashire. For a landscape painter such as myself the three counties give an amazing variety of subject matter which makes the job of bringing some poetry into my painting that much easier. The myriad corners of these three areas also lend themselves to a use of texture and a choice of palette knife or brush or whatever that is both spontaneous and planned.
