Gasometer on Beech 2

Product description

The use of an urban industrial image on beech strips is a reminder of the unnatural circumstances we have created and to recognise the latent threat to our environment particularly through the disruption to natures cycles. The beech panel is in relief, reference to the shape of the gasometer.

I recently graduated from Leeds Arts University with an MA in Creative Practice. Recent artworks and prints examine the complex relationship between human lifestyles and nature.
I believe my themes embrace the exhibition ‘seeds of change’ as my pieces are inspired by human changes to nature.

My work also comments on the negative changes we make to ourselves by turning our back on a natural way of living . 
The paradox is hopefully a jolt to see nature with fresh eyes and recognise the latent threat and maybe question our acceptance of such incongruent objects in our natural landscapes.
