Welsh Landscape

Educated at the High School of Art, Manchester and Camberwell School of Art in London, I subsequently trained as a teacher, with Art as my main subject. Much of my work is created using the mediums of watercolour and gouache, sometimes incorporating other media. I am essentially a painter of landscape, the motifs derived from a variety of natural sources, such as mountain, moorland, countryside and coast. Many paintings are an amalgam of ideas and locations.

Drawing is an essential element of my work and I always use sketchbooks on location. The drawings are transferred to a larger format, where they are developed and altered until the final piece of work has been completed.
