Product description
This series of prints is based on a long term observation of the way that the spaces and cracks in dry stone walls support plant life, with very little soil or water. These opportunist plants rely on the structures of the wall and the continuing erosion to give them a foot hold in a hostile environment. The prints were formed from scratched pieces of aluminium, eroded after being left for weeks in an etching solution. These fragile plates could then be printed as a ‘wall’, the spaces and cracks now able to hold their own pieces of plant life.
