The Depths

I am predominantly inspired by nature, my work investigates the unseen or overlooked landscape and memories and recollections of other places. I respond to what is there and hidden but also create imagined spaces through the process of layering, colour enhancement and playing with viewpoints. My paintings are small scale, inviting the viewer to approach the work and look for detail, to mimic how I see. The paintings for this exhibition convey ambiguous, illuminated spaces with fluid lines and repetitive structures. They could be viewed from a range of viewpoints allowing viewers to add their own narrative to the work.
