These paintings originate in my studies of rockpools on the Northumbrian coast and the reflections of colours and shapes seen. These compositions are not constrained by the subject. Shapes have been flattened, colours changed and intensified in order to create an abstract language that focuses on the energy created by contrasting colour edges.
