Product description
Oil, acrylic and seacoal on canvas
What lies beneath troubled waters with an unconsolidated seabed? This painting was conceptualised around the mass deaths of crustaceans and mammals following dredging of the River Tees in 2022.
The themes of my practice are industrial landscape and pollution. I mix different products on surfaces to reflect processes within industry and how they have changed the shape and composition of the landscape. I am currently focussing on carefully applied layers, to reflect how our land has deep integration of contaminants and question the impacts of historic and present contamination.
