Susan is an artist/printmaker from Halifax, West Yorkshire, where she has a studio. Her roots lie in the varied landscapes of West Yorkshire and this has influenced her exploration of drawing and mark making. More recently, she began to experiment with printmaking and this is now her preferred medium.

During her MA in Creative Practice, she took the opportunity to actively develop her printmaking skills and the ideas around using objects found in the landscape. By experimenting with a wide variety of printmaking techniques, particularly etching, collagraph and monoprint, Susan incorporates different mark making techniques, each derived from the found objects themselves. The 2 and 3 dimensional works tell visual stories about new imaginary places and landscapes.

Susan has exhibited in galleries across the north and London. She is part of the TCL collective, a group of Leeds-based female artists who exhibit and work together and Inkers, a West Yorkshire Printmaking Group. She also runs basic printmaking workshops on behalf of The Workers Education Association.
