Working intuitively with a variety of media, Cat's evocative mixed media art is inspired by the natural world and a love of storytelling. Exploring the connection between internal and external landscapes and the narratives that unfold, she uses paint, collage and photography to create atmospheric original art. Holding Time is a limited series of mixed media works using layers of Oil and Cold Wax with hand made collage layers embedded into the paintings.

Working on Arches Huile oil paper I have built up multiple layers of oil and cold wax paint. While I wait for the medium to dry, I work with wet strength tissue paper to create unique collage papers and to print out botanicla photos I take and edit on my phone. These papers are embedded into further layers of the paintings using cold wax medium. I use various tools to scratch into and manipulate the materials in each layer to create texture and a dialogue between the layers.
