Product description
Member of the West Riding Woodturning Group and winner for woodturning at the Great Yorkshire Show 2024 & 2025.
He has a wide ranging skills in woodcraft, and is experimental with many different forms and techniques. Using mostly English hardwoods which he seasons himself.
Jarrah wood is only found in South Western Australia where it is highly prized for its distinctive red colour.
This Jarrah burr was uniquely tough to turn as it includes a multitude of pockets of hardened resin which were highly abrasive to the edges of my turning tools.
Jarrah burl, native to Australia and sourced from the Eucalyptus marginata tree, is a dense and visually stunning hardwood known for its rich reddish-brown tones and intricate burl patterns. The swirling grain and eye-like formations are caused by irregular growths, making each piece unique.
