Product description
I am a ceramic artist working in stoneware clay, slips and oxides, with surface treatments owing as much to painting as they do to ceramics.
My work is an expressive and abstracted response to my close animal observations. I want my sculptures to reach back in time to the earliest artistic manifestations in history and prehistory where animals symbolise the sacred and spiritual.
These sculptures are from ‘The Herd’. As individuals, some with infants on their backs, they are still and dignified but as a group they take on a more powerful presence.
