Paul Ernst Klee was a Swiss-German painter and graphic artist whose versatile work is classified as Expressionism, Constructivism, Cubism, Primitivism and Surrealism. Among other things, Klee taught Bauhaus in Weimar and later in Dessau. His work Senecio (Baldgreis) from 1922 shows in the composition influences from the African mask and doll culture. Klee also influenced the design language of the Bauhaus consisting of square, triangle and circle in this work.
