Michelangelo is considered one of the earliest artists of the Italian High Renaissance. The Creation of Adam is a frequently reproduced detail from the ceiling fresco in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. It belongs to a cycle of nine individual frescoes. The painting of the Creation of Adam depicts God stretching out his finger to give life to Adam.
