I use mostly stoneware and I like layering glazes. Used alone they are very stable, combined together the are very reactive hence the pool or textured effect.

What could I say to the beginner I was not that long ago? Work hard. Fail. Do it again. Respect what people have built for themselves. Find the beauty in some lump of raw clay, mud, chaos. Let your hands express the soul. Play with textures, colours and pure shapes. 

Be bold. Have fun. Allow your past and your wounds to heal with the simplicity of creating. Nurture your skills and trust your instincts. Pause sometimes. Think of practicality through beauty. Meditate real life, innovate.

And most importantly, stay true to yourself. Always.’
