‘My current paintings are strongly based on the moods of the landscape I enjoy the space created by long vistas such as over the top of the moors. I begin painting with a photograph or sketch of some where that I have visited, a sense of the place I am painting is very important. I usually paint the sky first and then a feature that I find interesting a path a pool of water. When painting out of doors I will often include part of the earth in my painting, some gravel or press a piece of moss into the paint they add texture and make the painting part of the landscape.’
