Summer Of Large Paintings
Jo Brown, Dominic Vince, Jacquie Denby, David Wiseman, Mike Holcroft, Paul Finn, Paul Czainski, Rosemary Holcroft and others
As we scan the wide horizons of summer landscapes and seascapes, we naturally scale up our ways of seeing, from a restrictive window on the world to being immersed in physicality and in the spirit.
This fine exhibition of paintings is largely about largesse. Definitely not little things above a mantlepiece!, rather of artists courageously facing the dynamics of 'the arena’.
Through paint and canvas, with colour, shape and form these carefully selected works reveal their visual perceptions and interior worlds. Sounds easy, but do take time to look closely, for instance, at the application of pigments, whether acrylics freely soaked into raw canvas, or brushed on thickly, or oils layered with palate knife or squeegees. Then there is the colour!!
We hope you will enjoy engaging in these uplifting works.
(One or two smaller works have been included)
NB .This will be a changing exhibition, rehanging as and when.
