Teaching, now retired
My work in the more specialised field of crystal glazed pots began with retirement from teaching six years ago, when I was able to buy a computer controlled electric kiln. This is a pretty much essential piece of equipment allowing for the long and complex firing programmes used in the development of crystals. I always use porcelain bottle forms as a vehicle to present the richness, the growth patterns and colours etc.,of the crystal glaze surface.
